Rhode Island, Some 35mm Film, and Lots of Love

To say that these two knew exactly what they wanted would be an understatement. Every part of their day was intentional and meaningful down to the tiniest detail like the cord used for the hand binding ceremony. I fly into Providence, Rhode Island and drive to the sweetst airbnb I have ever seen, complete with a wind turbine peaking over the trees and start documenting from getting ready, the ceremony in Beavertail State Park, and then our sweet little dinner in downtown Providence at Plant City (which I can't get out of my head).

There are so many little well thought out details that I don't know where to start.

Location: The first movie these two actors watched together was Moonrise Kingdom and parts of that movie were filmed in Rhode Island (some even in the state park we did their ceremony in)

Dress: Fawn's wedding dress was actually her mother's and she had it altered to fit her dream

Suit: Carter's suit and shoes were vintage

Bouquet: We literally walked a few houses down and Fawn knocked on the door and a woman named Kate cut her flowers from her garden. I didn't document this (which I still kick myself over) but a hand cut bouquet from someone's garden? Out of kindness?!?! Does it get any sweeter than that?

The cord: This was made from strips of clothes that Fawn wore on their first date. Yep, reread that. She kept the clothes she wore on their first date, and used them to make the cord for their hand binding ceremony.

Officiant: Lily, Fawn's sibling

What made this elopement so dreamy and romantic? It wasn't spending thousands on the perfect bouquet or dress, it was these two thinking about what was THEM and what meant the most to them. This is going to look so different to everyone. If you know that eloping is right for you but you're not sure where to start, I'd sit with your partner and think about what fits you as a couple. If that means going to one of the trending elopement spots in Colorado, then do it! If it means going to some small town that holds sentimental value for some reason, DO THAT. But make sure that whatever you do, it makes you happy.
